What this is
Company Settings holds what is the same for everyone in your company. This article covers the branding at the top of the page (your logo, your company name and the colours of the header bar) and the units your team works in.
Open it
Go to Settings > Company.
Logo and company name
Both show in the header bar on every page.
- Logo: a PNG, JPG or WebP file of up to 2 MB. A wide image works best, for example 200 x 48 px.
- Company Name: up to 100 characters.
Header colours
- Under Header Appearance, choose a Banner Colour. Click a swatch, or type a colour code in Custom hex.
- Choose a Text Colour the same way.
- Look at the Preview. It shows the header as it will be. The real header does not change until you save.
- Click Save. The page reloads, and the header has the new colours on every page.
If the text would be hard to read on the banner, a warning appears in this section with the contrast between the two colours. Change the text or the banner colour until the warning goes away.
Use default beside a colour puts back CanShip's standard colour (blue for the banner, white for the text), not the colour you last saved.
Units
Under Units, Weights and measures sets what your whole team types and reads: Imperial (pounds and inches) or Metric (grams and centimetres).
- Choose one and click Save. The page reloads, and the other pages follow straight away, for example Products, Containers and the Rate browser.
- It changes how weights and sizes are shown, not what is stored or sent to a carrier. A box that reads 0.66 lbs reads 300 g, and a parcel prices the same in either system.
The Rate browser also has its own lb / in and kg / cm buttons, for pricing one parcel in the other system. They convert what you typed and do not change the company setting.
Saving, discarding and leaving
As soon as you change something, Discard and Save appear at the bottom of the page.
- Save keeps every change on the page.
- Discard puts the page back to what was last saved.
- If you go to another page with changes not saved, CanShip asks whether to leave and lose them.
