What this is
You can pack a box now and buy its label later. A saved pack keeps its container and its items until you ship it. Use it when a parcel is packed but cannot go out yet.
Save a pack
- Go to Fulfillment > Packing and scan or type the bin label.
- Choose the container, then scan each item into it, or click Assign All.
- On the container's card, click Save.
The card now shows a Saved chip. You can leave the page.
Where a saved pack shows up
- On the Packing page, under Packed, Not Shipped, with the bin, the order and the number of parcels packed.
- On the Orders list, the order's status reads Packed.
- On the Shipments list, the shipment's status reads Saved pack.
Ship it later
- Go to Fulfillment > Packing. Scan the bin again, or click it under Packed, Not Shipped.
- The pack opens as you left it, with the Saved chip. Click Ship on the container's card.
- Check the dimensions and weight, tick These are this parcel's actual dimensions and weight, and click Confirm and Get Rates.
- Choose a rate and click Ship.
Saving from the Weight step
If you are already on the Weight step, click Save, Don't Ship. You go back to the bin list and the pack is saved.
A weight you typed is saved with the pack. Click Override Weight, type the weight, tick the box to confirm it, then click Save, Don't Ship. The container's card then shows that weight, and the Weight step opens with it filled in. An estimated weight is saved too, if you tick the box before you click Save, Don't Ship: the container's card then shows the estimate.
The Needs weight chip
Under Packed, Not Shipped, a bin marked Needs weight has a saved parcel with no weight recorded yet. You confirm the weight when you ship it.
What can go wrong
- Confirm and Get Rates is greyed out. Tick the box above it. The line under the buttons says what is missing.
- You cannot find the bin. Look under Packed, Not Shipped on the Packing page, or find the order on the Shipments list, where its status reads Saved pack.
