What this is
Reprint brings a shipment's label up again. Void cancels a label you no longer need and puts the order back so it can be packed again.
Reprint a label
You can reprint from three places. Each one opens the same label in its own small window for printing.
- The packing station. After you ship, the Order Complete step lists each parcel with a Reprint Label button.
- The order. Go to Orders, click the order, and click Reprint Label beside the shipment.
- The shipment. Go to Fulfillment > Shipments, click the shipment, and click Reprint Label.
A reprint is the same label with the same tracking number. It does not buy a new one.
Void a label
You can void from three places:
- The packing station. After you ship, the Order Complete step shows Void label beside Reprint Label on each parcel.
- End of Day. Each label waiting to be closed has Void label in the last column of the table.
- The shipment. Go to Fulfillment > Shipments, click the shipment, and click Void Label.
CanShip then asks which kind of void you want. A void cannot be undone.
- Relabel is for a box you have in hand with the wrong label. The box stays packed and keeps its stock, the order stays picked, and the packing station opens at Rate & Ship so you can buy a new label for the same box.
- Void and unpack sends the box's units back to their bins, still allocated to the order, to be picked and packed again.
At the packing station and on Shipments, Relabel is the default. At End of Day, Void and unpack is.
What Void and unpack does
- The label is cancelled at the carrier.
- The shipment reads Voided, and its tracking number is struck through in the Shipments list.
- The units go back into stock, allocated to the order again.
- An order whose only shipment is voided goes back to Ready, and its tote is released. It also leaves its pick job.
- The shipment offers Re-pack. It opens the packing station with the order's items ready to pack again.
- For an order from a Shopify store, CanShip tells Shopify the order is no longer fulfilled. The shipping confirmation the shopper already received is not withdrawn.
CanShip confirms with: Label voided. Its stock and allocations are back on the order.
Test labels
A label bought on a carrier's test account shows a Test label notice in Shipment Details. Nothing was tendered or billed for it, and it is not a shippable label. When you void one, the question says so: it was made on the carrier's test environment, so nothing is refunded.
