Your CanShip login, and what you can see

What this is

An orientation for a brand whose warehouse runs on CanShip. Your 3PL has given you a login so you can check your stock, orders and shipments yourself instead of emailing to ask. This is what you will find.

Getting in

You will receive an invitation by email asking you to set a password. Sign in at app.canship.co. If the invitation has not arrived after a few minutes, check your spam folder, then ask your 3PL to resend it.

You will only ever see your own data. Nobody else's stock, orders or shipments are visible to you, and yours are not visible to them.

Your inventory

Inventory shows what the warehouse is holding for you, bin by bin, with three numbers that mean different things:

  • On hand is the physical count on the shelf.
  • Allocated is the part of it already committed to orders that have not shipped yet.
  • Available is what is genuinely free to sell.

Available is the number to plan against. On hand looks healthier than it is, because some of it is already spoken for. Where a product is lot tracked you will also see the lot number and expiry date.

Your orders

Orders shows what has come in and where each one has got to. Receipts shows inbound, so you can confirm a delivery into the warehouse was received and when.

Your shipments

Shipments shows what has gone out, with the carrier and tracking number on each one. This is the screen that answers a "where is my parcel" question without going through your 3PL first.

Getting the data out

Orders, Shipments, Inventory and Products each have an Export CSV button, which gives you the current view as a spreadsheet with whatever filters you have applied. Use it for your own reconciliation rather than asking for a report.

Reports has two: Shipments, and Throughput for volume over a period.

What you cannot do here

This is a window onto your account, not a place to run it. You cannot create or cancel orders, adjust stock, or change what the warehouse does. Keep sending your orders exactly the way you do now, whether that is a connected store, a feed, or an email to your 3PL. Nothing about that changes.

You also will not see your 3PL's other clients, their warehouse operation, or their carrier accounts.

If a number looks wrong

Tell your 3PL, and say which screen and which SKU. The most common surprise is not an error: it is the difference between on hand and available, where stock is already committed to an order that has not shipped. If the two disagree by roughly the size of a recent order, that is usually why.
